Manager - Skating
Essential Functions:
The Skating Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the Learn to Skate, Golden Edge Aspire Program, and figure skating programs at America First Center in Henderson.
Skating Coordinator will report to the America First Center Director of Facility Programming & Operations and the Senior Director of Skating Programs.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the Learn to Skate and Golden Edge Aspire Programs at America First Center in Henderson to include but not limited to the following:
New and return skater enrollment organization for Learn to Skate and Golden Edge Aspire.
Clipboards with attendance sheets Name tags Assist coaches and skaters when needed during class.
Assist in training all new on-ice staff with respect to on-ice program delivery and curriculum at America First Center in Henderson.
Train an on-ice supervisor for Learn to Skate, so they may assist during classes.
Setting up ice lanes, clipboards for coaches, LTS training tools and toys for coaches.
Supervise and mentor all America First Center coaching staff.
Mentor, assist in hiring, provide feedback and terminations if necessary.
Scheduling of coaches for session programs.
Sending out e-mails to coaching to communicate schedules and any important updates and reminders.
Assist Senior Director of Skating Programs to ensure all coaches' paperwork is completed and up to date, which includes the following:
Contracts / Learn to Skate USA certifications / Background Checks / SafeSport compliant.
Submit monthly coaching payroll to VGK accounting.
Communicate daily, weekly, monthly with skaters and parents who are in the skating programs.
Keep customers up to date with important information, reminders, schedules, etc.
Keep up to date with Learn to Skate and Figure skating industry trends.
Work towards increasing registrations for all skating programs.
Work in collaboration with the Senior Director of Skating Programs to ensure enrollment and transition from classes occur each session.
Serves as an ambassador for the VGK Skating Academy, Golden Edge Aspire Program, and VGK Center of Excellence.
Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
Assist in tasks and events at America First Center, City National Arena, and Hylo Park Arena.
Key Competencies and
Experience:
2 - 4 years related management experience High School diploma or equivalent, required.
Associate degree or higher preferred.
Ability to inspire a team collaborative environment.
Computer skills are necessary.
Ability to take direction well and work with team to discuss and plan new ideas.
Must be able to take in and apply feedback from numerous sources and implement it into action.
Ability to demonstrate a flexible can-do attitude.
Self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated.
Detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, intense environment.
Travel:
Work related travel as assigned.
Schedule Overview:
This is not a 9-to-5, 40
hour a week job.
Candidates must be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Possible MOD shifts (manager on duty) at America First Center.
