Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Route Supervisor to oversee our daily and nightly service delivery, ensuring that all operations are executed safely, on time, and cost-effectively. The Route Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of service, adhering to company practices, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Supervise drivers, ensuring that all daily operations run smoothly. This includes greeting drivers, overseeing pre and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Establish and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The Route Supervisor will enforce company policies and ensure that all team members understand and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Conduct route observations, identify training needs, and engage in performance evaluations. The Route Supervisor will also be involved in the disciplinary process and attend meetings that apply positive leadership principles.
- Respond promptly to dispatch calls, manage customer issues, and ensure that all service requirements are communicated clearly to drivers.
- The Route Supervisor will also occasionally drive and assist on routes to cover shortages and support drivers behind schedule.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in transportation management, logistics, or related fields. An Associate's Degree or extensive experience in similar roles is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other relevant regulations.
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver s license, or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, and be available to address operational issues by phone at all times.
Special Considerations:
- This role requires physical work, including driving and working outside for most of the workday. The Route Supervisor may be exposed to various environmental conditions and occupational risks.
