JOB
Summary:
Rent equipment successfully as measured by the actual rental volume compared to the rental potential of the assigned territory.
Rent equipment on a profitable basis as measured by gross profit on each sale, and cumulative gross profit at fiscal year end.
Call new and existing Empire Customers to assist them with equipment rental needs.
Essential Functions:
Maintains both inventory and rental agreement accuracy using DBS system.
Utilizes RIM goals to determine rental inventory needs based on current availability and communicates new equipment purchases to the Rental Inventory Coordinator Acts as the key inside contact for and maintain a current call list of preferred customers based on rental volume as determined by the Empire Rental department.
Makes contact with preferred customer via face to face, telephone and/or other means of communication on a biweekly basis.
Continually becomes familiar with competition including their rental terms, rental rates, strengths and weaknesses, and market impact.
Establishes and implements Customer Satisfaction Surveys and reports information to Rental Manager.
Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
Work safely at all times.
Adhere to all applicable safety policies.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Serves as additional support on rental counter on an as-needed basis.
Communicates availability and rental rates of equipment to customers.
Assists the Rental Coordinators with answering incoming phone calls if needed.
Conveys current Dodge Report results to Account Managers and Rental Account Managers.
Works within and promotes corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have extensive working knowledge of Caterpillar product line including model designations and equipment applications and relay information to customer.
Working knowledge of personal computers including proficiency in DBS, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Able to direct people and expedite machinery rental, lease, demonstration and sales transactions.
Must be able to write legibly and perform common calculations.
Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
College degree preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 36 months with Empire Rental.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
