Summary:
Perform non-destructive testing and inspection of incoming and outgoing components and parts in addition to providing technical and administrative support.
Essential Functions:
Inspects all incoming components and parts for visual cracks, damage, and visual wear.
Performs non-destructive inspections and tests.
Inspects all inside and outside diameter dimensions and other machined surfaces for wear.
Act as primary liaison with customers' technical and engineering personnel.
Promotes and maintains a strong, cooperative working relationship with all vendors and customers.
Supports shop personnel by obtaining material needed for the work order.
Performs final inspection of completed components and work.
Looks for correct size, finish, debarring, over spray and weld spatter.
Ensures current procedures and process controls are followed on a daily basis.
Works safely at all times.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains a current library of technical information.
Distributes technical information to employees and customers.
Seeks increased knowledge of job-related products and procedures.
Learns Caterpillar components and repair procedures.
Performs special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
Technical knowledge and experience in non-destructive testing procedures including magnetic particle inspection and ultrasonic inspection.
Previous machine shop and technical testing experience.
Previous experience inspecting parts, before and after machining operations, for dimension tolerances and surface finish.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
