Transportation Planning Manager

AtkinsR alis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.
How will you contribute to the team? You will provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to staff, lead technical studies, manage projects and tasks, and contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.
You will coordinate with other internal groups and participate in proposals and business development.
You will contribute your technical skills in transportation planning and/or transportation modeling (e.
g.
VISSIM, Synchro, TransModeler, AIMSUN, Cube, etc.
).
You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects to major clients such as Departments of Transportation in Nevada, Colorado, and Texas, LA Metro, Federal Highway Administration, and large toll agencies and municipal clients.
Our teams currently are delivering exciting and nationally important projects in the areas of safety studies, Vision Zero, traffic operations modeling, toll facilities, transit planning, bike/ped/trail planning, sustainable solutions, and transportation technology projects using big data and machine learning.
What will you contribute? Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or related field.
A graduate degree is a plus.
Ten years or more of experience, including at least two years of project management and/or supervisory experience.
Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production.
Demonstrated skills in your area(s) of expertise.
These could include transportation planning, safety analysis, travel demand modeling or traffic operations modeling.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to represent the firm effectively to clients, key public officials, and the community.
Professional registration in field of practice (PE and/or AICP) is required.
