We are seeking customer service Communication Assistants (CA's) to caption telephone calls in our captioning center through the use of voice recognition technology. CaptionCall is part of the Sorenson Communications Company. This is an opportunity to work in a professional office environment, dictating telephone calls for the deaf and hard of hearing
. No sales, no dealing with angry customers, no outbound calls. This is an entry level position in a fast growing company. Opportunities exist to transition from part-time to full-time employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dictate and relay a variety of conversational topics. As the speed and accuracy of dictation is vital, the candidate must be able to complete entry level dictation testing with automated speech recognition (ASR) software. Applicants must also be able to type a minimum of 40 WPM
All employees must agree to maintain strict consumer confidentiality.
Completion of other duties and projects as assigned.
This job involves sitting at a desk and working with a computer. Each call requires PC usage, knowledge of MS Windows, and knowledge of multiple computer interfaces

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:
High School education or equivalent work experience, must be 18 years or older.
Strong proficiency in basic computer operations.
Ability to read, listen, comprehend and annunciate single and multiple-syllable words and recognize similarities and difference between words and numbers.
Personalized customer service is required. Our employees provide excellent customer service by relaying exactly what the person is saying without any variation and by maintaining strict content confidentiality.
Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking time to understand the points being made.
English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate to customer needs.
Physical Demands (if applicable):
Candidate must be able to sit for extended periods of time and be able to hear and speak clearly in order to effectively dictate conversations for hearing and hard of hearing customers.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
