The Print Production/Assistant Graphic Designer works in the print center in both graphic design and production. He or she works with customers to create, schedule, and produce their print products. Reporting to the lead Graphic Designer, he or she will help with all customer graphics orders and with volume copying. In addition, he or she helps with customer service, which includes receiving and processing packages for courier shipment; operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices; and advising our valued customers by providing accurate information on our products, services, and best-value options. The Print Production/Assistant Graphic Designer exhibits confidence by knowing best practices as related to the industry.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, a professional appearance, and will be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time. He or she must have strong conceptualization and design skills, technical expertise, and a highly collaborative nature. In addition, he or she must have some experience in graphics design and proficient experience with various software design programs including Adobe-based platforms (Acrobat, Indesign, Illustrator, and PhotoShop) for both Mac and PC. A Bachelor's degree in visual communication, graphic design, or a related field and two years of experience in graphic design or the print industry highly preferred.

-- Develops and maintains accurate customer files based on production work flow
-- Produces/designs, proofs, and updates materials for customer projects
-- Develops as a team player critical to the production process
-- Consistently follows up on production activity by telephone or written communications
-- Optimizes the work level to streamline the production flow
-- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
-- Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
