Job Summary: The Broadcast Engineer installs, supports, and maintains information and mechanical systems in a broadcast television and remote broadcast environment. Information systems include, but not limited to Windows and other operating systems, network and broadcast video servers, end-user desktop and laptops, telecommunication systems, news editing and automation, printers, custom applications and related-user accounts. Mechanical systems include, but not limited to HVAC and electrical systems.
Essential Job Functions
45Ensure the operation, maintenance and integrity of the News Automation system and the News NRCS (including the video playback and record servers).
25Provide technical assistance to the remote broadcast.
15Provide assistance to the IT Staff.
10Performs preventative maintenance as appropriate on station equipment.
5Additional duties as required.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
All must be met to be considered.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management, Broadcast Engineering or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Five years related broadcast work experience.
Experience troubleshooting methodologies that apply to networked Server/PC environment and standalone workstations.
Windows operating system experience (including Windows XP, Server 2003 and Windows 7) in a corporate network environment. Mac OS X support preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Solid understanding of TCP/IP Protocols
Basic knowledge of electronics, troubleshooting and repair.
Good decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to relay critical information to the appropriate staff.
Ability to communicate with non-technical personnel to resolve equipment issues.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize and make frequent changes to work plans without loss of efficiency or composure.
Microsoft Office 2007 experience preferred.
Avid experience preferred.
MCSE, Cisco, SBE CBT and CBNT certifications preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
