Supervisor, Fixed Asset Accounting

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include:The successful candidate is responsible for supervising two accountants completing the accounting, month end close, and reporting for capital projects and fixed assets. Coordinating capital budget and LOM plans with sites and corporate directives. Working with project managers to promote cost controls, enhanced reporting, and increased use of system functionality, while providing guidance and enforcing policies regarding submission content, approvals, and overruns. Data administration and maintenance of Oracle Projects and Fixed Assets systems for standard processes, uses, and configuration for Global Shared Services. Providing training, audit, and back-up support as needed. Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting; Understanding of IFRS and financial analysis/reporting requirements; Awareness of business law and general management principles. required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Master's degree and CPA cert preferred.
Prior experience with Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Projects, or other fixed asset accounting systems. preferred
Ability to be organized, self-motivated, efficient, analytical, and to pay close attention to detail while responding to multiple demands and priorities preferred.
Excellent team player with strong written and verbal communication skills to work with the Toronto Corporate office, accounting / other departments, operating units, and other cross functional teams across multiple countries;
Exceptional personal integrity, ethics, and trust. required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
