D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Acquisition Project Manager for their Operations Department. The right candidate will manage a site from pre-acquisition up to the construction of homes.
Summary
The purpose of the Land Acquisition Project Manager is to manage a site from pre-acquisition up to the construction of homes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create, review and maintain all due diligence property documents, budgets, reports and schedules
Insure that property documents comply with DRH standards and notify management of concerns and potential solutions
Insure that all due diligence work is completed prior to expiration of contingency period and the Land Acquisition Proforma (LAP) submittal date
Coordinate information sharing and work distribution with land development, acquisitions, construction and the sales/marketing teams
Provide site inspections to identify project status, progress and risk management
Maintain budgets and development schedule oversight and updating
Coordinate and communicate with primary engineer and other primary consultants
Provide technical support and assistance to the Land Development Project Manager
Manage project budget, review and sign off on field purchase orders and provide reporting
Plan, direct and manage the activates of the Entitlements Staff and Land Staff
Coordinate with consultants and municipalities staff
Review development agreements, impact fee audits agreements, school agreements, etc.
Zone and plat projects
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 1 or more employees in the Land Acquisition Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a vehicle, a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
