Overall purpose of role:
BCUS Operations MI & Analytics is a Shared Services group developing key operational reporting and analysis for Fraud, Collections, and Customer Care. Our mission is to shape the bank's agenda by operating a best-in-class MI organization that delivers actionable insights, metrics to the business that optimizes shareholder and customer value
Key Accountabilities and Skills required:
Key specific accountabilities
Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports on performance of the department at individual, functional, and department level -- specifically those metrics relating to operating efficiency and effectiveness
Provide department with a centralized look at contact volumes and patterns, including historical & forecast.
Prepare performance metrics used to help evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of the staff.
Assist with preparing monthly Operations Group forecast and tracking actual.
Work w/ vendors of to incorporate new systems in existing reporting.
Interact with other departments to determine appropriate metrics and assess trends versus forecasts and business strategy.
Work to integrate reporting from various systems to develop unified, comprehensive view of the business.
Work closely with system programmers to generate new reporting tools or modify current work products to optimize capabilities and improve efficiency.
Perform ad hoc analysis relating to contact reasons and customer segmentation.
Lead and mentor other analysts. Facilitate the implementation of Business Intelligence reporting and data structures.
Day to day decisions are generally made without seeking higher authority.
Has an impact on the success of the functional area.
Risk and Control Objective: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline required.
2 years' experience in business analytics.
2 years in SAS and SQL experience.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or other related fields.
Strong business analysis and quantitative skills.
Strong data metrics and analysis
Advanced computer skills, including proven ability to utilize tools such as Access and Excel.
Ability to view, query, extract, and report on data stored in Oracle and other relational databases.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Able to consolidate information and prepare & present findings to senior management.
Strong attention to detail.
Result oriented team player.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
